What should I carry to a first clinic visit in Delhi?

A first OPD visit in Delhi usually goes faster if you carry identity, any old reports, and a short list of medicines you already take. This is an admin checklist, not a clinical plan. PatientSaathi does not book the visit and does not keep these papers for you.

What people typically take

  • Photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or driving licence) and a local phone number
  • Any older prescriptions, discharge summaries, and recent lab or imaging reports (paper or PDF)
  • A written list of current medicines and allergies, if you have them
  • Cash / UPI / card, because many clinics collect the OPD fee at the counter
  • The name of the doctor or department you were told to see, if someone referred you

Optional, not required to be seen: an ABHA number if you already have one. Creating ABHA is described by NHA at abdm.gov.in. It is not something PatientSaathi issues.

Before you leave home

Clinic hours and weekly offs vary by locality and by doctor. Call the reception or check the clinic’s own board or website. PatientSaathi’s Find Doctors page does not list live hours and does not book appointments.

If this is an emergency, do not use this checklist. In India, contact 112.

Official source

Hours, fees, and what a clinic asks you to carry come from that clinic — not from this site. PatientSaathi is not a doctor directory and does not book visits.
