What should I carry for a flu or H1N1 clinic visit in Delhi?

Delhi hospitals have been seeing more flu-like visits in August 2026. This page is an admin checklist for a clinic or OPD visit. It is not a diagnosis and not a treatment plan. PatientSaathi does not test for H1N1, does not sell vaccines or medicines, and does not book doctors.

A licensed doctor decides if you need a test, a vaccine, or medicine. If breathing is hard, you have chest pain, or you cannot stay awake, this checklist is not the next step. In India, contact 112.

What the public numbers say this week

India Today (updated 25 Aug 2026) reported more than 1,777 H1N1 cases this year in Delhi and over 2,300 Influenza-A cases, calling it a six-fold rise versus last year, with more flu consultations at Delhi-NCR hospitals.

The Tribune, citing health-department data up to 20 Aug 2026, gave the same 1,777 H1N1 figure, inside 2,392 Influenza-A cases and 2,602 influenza cases overall. Those counts will move. This site does not keep a live case tracker.

What to carry

Photo ID and a local phone number
A one-page note: when fever or cough started, what medicines you already took, and any long-term illness (asthma, heart, diabetes, pregnancy) if you have them
Older prescriptions and any recent chest X-ray or blood reports (paper or PDF)
UPI / card / cash for the OPD fee and, if advised, a test
A mask, water, and the name of the clinic or department you were told to see

You do not need PatientSaathi, and you do not need an ABHA number, to walk in. Creating ABHA is described by NHA at abdm.gov.in. It is not something this site issues.

Tests and prices (ask the counter that morning)

India Today (25 Aug 2026), quoting a Sir Ganga Ram Hospital physician, said H1N1 testing is widely available, with private hospital tests generally Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000, a full respiratory BioFire panel about Rs 9,000 to Rs 15,000, and government-hospital testing described as almost negligible. Confirm the price and turnaround at that lab or hospital desk before you pay. PatientSaathi does not run a lab and does not book home collection.
