How do I find a doctor in Delhi?

You cannot book a doctor on PatientSaathi today. Our Find Doctors page has no live listings and no same-day appointments. This page is health-admin information: how people in Delhi usually locate a licensed clinician, and how to check a registration number. It is not a directory and it does not recommend a name.

What PatientSaathi can and cannot do

Cannot: show named doctor cards, filters by specialty or locality, or a bookable slot.
Can: take an interest registration on the homepage if you want a callback when listings go live.
Doctors and clinics: can claim a profile with an NMC or licence number. We do not publish a name until that person or organisation claims it.

If you need care today, contact a licensed clinic yourself or, in an emergency in India, 112. Ask Sathi on the homepage is a demo. It does not pick a doctor and it does not check symptoms.

Ways people in Delhi usually find a clinician

These are ordinary admin paths, not PatientSaathi features.

A referral from a clinician you already saw. Ask that clinic for the department name and whether they have a visiting consultant in Delhi. Take the referral note with you.
The hospital or clinic’s own OPD board / phone. Hours and weekly offs change. Call reception before you travel.
A hospital you already have a UHID with. Many people go back to the same OPD rather than starting a new file.
Your insurer’s cashless or reimbursement network list, if you plan to claim. That list is the insurer’s, not ours.

We will not name clinics or invent a “top doctors in Delhi” list.

How to check that a name is a registered doctor

Registration is the trust check we can point to without running a directory.

National Medical Commission’s Indian Medical Register search: nmc.org.in/information-desk/indian-medical-register. Search by name, registration number, year, or state council. NMC notes that some council years (including Delhi for 2021 on that page) may be incomplete and that the data is being updated.
National Medical Register (NMR), the newer NMC database: nmr-nmc.abdm.gov.in.
For a Delhi registration, the state council is the Delhi Medical Council. Ask the clinic to show the registration number on the prescription or board, then match it on the official register.
