How does a second opinion usually work if I already have reports?
A second opinion in Delhi is another licensed doctor reading the history and reports you already have, then giving their own view. The admin part is gathering a clean set of papers and booking that visit yourself. PatientSaathi does not book the doctor, does not store the reports, and does not tell you which opinion to follow.
What to take to the second clinic
- The first doctor’s prescription or referral note, if you have one
- Discharge summary, if you were admitted
- Lab PDFs and imaging (films, CD, or the radiology portal link plus the written report)
- A one-page timeline: when symptoms started, what was done, which medicines you are on
- Photo ID and the first hospital’s UHID, so they can tell your files apart
You do not need PatientSaathi, and you do not need a live locker, to walk in with a folder. If both clinics use ABHA-linked sharing, that is an official ABDM path described at abdm.gov.in. Many Delhi visits still work with PDFs and paper.
